Round-to-Oval Dining With A Built-In Butterfly Extension
The Dakota Round Oak Extending Table features a clever butterfly extension mechanism that transforms its compact circular tabletop into a spacious oval dining surface. The extension leaf folds away neatly beneath the tabletop when not in use, eliminating the need for separate storage. When additional space is required, the two halves of the tabletop slide apart to reveal the concealed leaf, which unfolds into position to create a larger dining area. Metal locking catches underneath help keep the tabletop sections securely joined when closed.
The oak tabletop showcases pronounced natural grain patterns, subtle knots and variations in colour that give the timber its distinctive appearance. A warm, natural finish highlights these details, while the smoothly rounded edges and gently curved perimeter provide a comfortable surface for dining. The combination of rounded ends and a straight central section creates a practical oval shape when extended, offering additional room for place settings, serving dishes and dining chairs.
Four substantial timber legs provide a solid foundation, with a supporting apron beneath the tabletop adding strength to the overall structure. The chunky, slightly rounded leg profiles complement the table's traditional styling, while the open space beneath allows chairs to be positioned comfortably around the perimeter. Its adaptable round-to-oval design is particularly useful in smaller dining rooms and kitchen spaces, providing a compact footprint for daily meals with the option of additional tabletop space when needed.
Table requires simple 10-15 minute assembly.
